Once upon a time about 20 years ago
I went to St. Louis for hippie show
I made some money and I went to cash the check
I went to the bar and you know what happened next
we sat in the car and a little time had passed
we pulled up to the light and boy we had a crash
now I had been in trouble back in Maryland
so I told my friend I got to be leaving
So I stuck my thumb out searching for a ride
and up pulled a Bronco with two old weird guys

I said hey man can I get a ride back to the city
I over heard them talking to themselves saying
Hey man she's young and pretty

So as we were driving I noticed we weren't heading back
I said "hey man this aint where the theatre's at"
They said "before we take you back you better do something for us."
I knew at that time I was running out of luck
So out the door I ran and I ran for a couple blocks
I stuck out my thumb and fat trucker picks me up

I said hey man can I get a ride back to the city
I over heard him talking to himself saying
Hey man she's young and pretty

So that fat trucker he dropped me off
two hippies in a limo they picked me up

I said hey man can I get a ride back to the city
I over heard them talking to themselves saying
Hey man she's young and pretty

and I made it back safe and sound
